Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American chef television personality and an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. She is host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef at the Food Network. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host who has spiky blond wigs and a pumped-up persona, shows how you can cook dishes that are restaurant quality at home using simple methods. Chef Burrell is also a part of some of the top eateries in New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy, and battled in Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in the upstate area of New York, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America is where she enrolled following her graduation with an English degree and a Communications certificate from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a wonderful experience for me. I could not learn or do enough. Following her graduation, Chef Burrell spent a period of time in Italy studying at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one Michelin-starred restaurant located in Tuscany. In Italy, Chef Burrell acquired an appreciation for and appreciation for Italian food. It had a significant effect on the way she thinks about food. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef of the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation and was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists kids with disabilities. In her capacity as a guest speaker and mentor, she travels around the U.S. to share her culinary passion and professional career. Anne declared that she felt fortunate to be able to communicate her love of cooking to others.
